The Suicide Squad review: A DC movie tied up in a Marvel implosion - Polygon
James Gunn’s standalone sequel to 2016’s Suicide Squad is a violent and very funny do-over of one of the DCEU’s biggest critical failures, as well as an introduction to a new set of weirdos that fans will doubtless love (especially when they’re played by John Cena). It’s also surprisingly weighty, taking its themes of expendability quite seriously — until the very end, when it does not.
